  9. In a town near Albuquerque
  10. lived a most concerned young boy.
  11. He said, lately I have noticed
  12. folks don't live with peace and joy.
  13. With frowns and worries in their faces
  14. they're lost and don't know where to go.
  15. He said I'll get the people straightened
  16. by putting on a puppet show.

  18. The young New Mexican puppeteer
  19. he saw the people all lived in fear.
  20. He thought that maybe they listen to
  21. a puppet telling them what to do.
  22. And now he got some string and he got some wood
  23. he did some carving and he was good
  24. and folks came running so they could hear
  25. the young New Mexican puppeteer.

  27. First he carved out young Abe Lincoln,
  28. abe will teach 'em civil rights.
  29. Then a king named Martin Luther
  30. so they'd recall his peaceful fight.
  31. Old Mark Twain his wit and wisdom
  32. will surely show them life is fun.
  33. But he smiled with satisfaction
  34. when the Prince of Peace was done.

  36. The young New Mexican puppeteer...

  38. Now his puppet show were clever
  39. and he made the people laugh
  40. when he got across the message
  41. walk along love's open path.
  42. He lived in his own puppet theatre
  43. decked out with spotlights yellow and red.
  44. And then they wrote him up in all the papers
  45. and this is what the story said.
